The food is simply fantastic! For me, this should be the first reason to recommand this nice hotel. If you go, be sure to try the "olive oil tasting" before diner, €5 for two persons, good explaination of three types of olive oil which you can re-taste in your diner afterwards.
If you open the bedroom window, make sure the drapes are closed! Swallows do fly in !!! (Although this has nothing to do with the hotel, but gives you an idea of this beautiful piece of nature where the hotel is located)
Resort is awesome and the food is amazing.
You need to have your own car as is not centrally located but is worth the trouble.
Beautiful place, good restaurant.
Bathroom was not comfortable enough, then very old style.
Excellent place to stay.I have never before experienced such helpful, thoughtful, and pleasing staff in all departments.
Did not dislike anything but felt that dinner menu was overpriced.
The Hotel I one hour drive from Florence.
Wonderful service, lovely location in the countryside of Tuscany. Excellent staff - lovely room. Would recommend to anyone. Food was excellent. Lovely breakfast on the terrace in the sun. Pool, bikes to ride, free parking. Close to Florence for sightseeing. About 10 miles to Autostrade.
The atmosphere, the beautiful garden, located near Florence, nice and quiet, a fantastic restaurant with delicious olive oil meals. Just lovely.
Be aware that there is no elevator, so be sure that you are able to carry your baggage upstairs.
very friendly personal, relaxed and cosy atmosphere, excellent location
the room was a bit humid, given there is not enough daylight.
We had a "Superior Double Room" in the building adjacent to the old villa and it was delightful. The decor was attractive and the furnishings very much in keeping with the old style. It had a lovely terrace with views across the countryside. Staff were excellent as was the food in the restaurant. Morning walks in the grounds were something to remember for years to come. We even saw a deer running through the olive trees. Despite the lack of air con our room and the hotel remained cool during our very hot stay thanks to the thick old walls.
Service in the restaurant could have been better, but the quality of the dishes served compensated for the slow service we had.
Very beautiful position and delicious food
Very disappointed that the pool was unheated and had no shallow end
Everything was perfect!
If there is something to improve, maybe the matress could be a little bit smoother.
A personal touch from the owner through all employees on the property. Exceptional resort experience with unique gourmet food at every meal. The olive harvest and family pressing operation was fantastic.
Minor issue with electrical service.
Excellent service - staff were very helpful. Excellent and very good quality dinner menu with a wide choice that was well-explained by waiting staff. Beautiful setting.
Our room was on the top floor and up two steep flights of stairs. It had no air-conditioning and was stifling. The path down to the hotel pool is steep too so this is not the place for anyone with mobility problems. There are too few sunbeds available for the number of guests.
Historical building ,elegant restored in a scenic setting. Dining was a treat, as weel as the breakfast relaxing in the sunchairs walking in the surroundings very friendly staff
We enjoyed our stay at Villa Campestri very much. We also had dinner at the hotel and found that the food was very good. We arrived late and were a bit unsure about the road climbing higher and higher. A phone call to the friendly person at the reception desk reassured us that we were on the right way; The bathroom had a large bathtub, which we liked. Villa Campestri is a good 30 km from Florence. We enjoyed driving the nice country roads. When we will again travel to the area it is very likely that we will return to Villa Campestri.
